I ain't afraid of no ghosts!

Dear Ray,

I’m not sure I believe this whole ghostbusting thing. Can you give an example of an encounter with a ghost, and what you did to remove it?
— Sincerely, Ima Skeptic

Dear Ms. Skeptic,

I am delighted you asked -- I have countless stories of ghost encounters, but the one that first comes to mind is a very mundane one. A friend of mine - a carpenter - called me to ask why his tools kept disappearing when working in his client's house. He was very confused, especially as the tools kept reappearing in a part of the house he wasn't even working in. He also felt that he was being watched, and was very disturbed by this.

I did what I do whenever someone tells me they suspect a ghost in in the house: I did an energy scan on this house, and quickly determined there was indeed a spirit, and it wasn't dangerous at all, just the previous owner not understanding why someone was working on his house!

I reported back to my friend that yes, there is a ghost, but he's harmless -- just doesn't understand what's going on with his house. I told him, "The next time you felt like you're being watched or your tools disappear, just stop what you're doing and talk to him. Apologize for not being able to see or hear him. Explain to him that someone else owns the house now, so you're working on their behalf to maintain the quality of his home."

In this case, the only thing I did was see the spirit and tell my friend what to do. This is a very benign and harmless example of a ghostly visitor. In my next post, I'll talk about ghosts who aren't quite so benign. And in the next case, you do NOT want to let these spirits hang around, as they can drain your energy, disrupt your sleep and manipulate you, physically, mentally and emotionally. Truth is, a simple ghost like the one featured above can do that too -- they just don't belong here!

Til next time,
Ray
